I did not like it, man it pissed me off! But I wanted to finish it so i could provide a review. Besides that if I book is bad enough I just won't finish it. That doesn't usually happen though because i always think it's going to get better, same with movies!

Meghan- I agree with you there. I feel like maybe I sound like I LOVE books i rate around 3 stars, I mean I like them sometimes I just don't like them as much as others, you know?Aleahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05793307292393570181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13444541.post-75744383906192353502009-02-16T23:52:00.000-06:002009-02-16T23:52:00.000-06:00You know, it really seems funny that those 1/2 sta...You know, it really seems funny that those 1/2 stars make such a difference, but they really do! I love being able to use them on LT. Sometimes a book really is half-way between two ratings!

Thanks for stopping by and participating in Thingers last week! When I try to translate them onto Amazon, I'm never sure which way to go.

I think the most perplexing thing is people on LT who write positive reviews and talk about how much they loved a book and then give it two stars.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13444541.post-35464169651206563772009-02-11T02:12:00.000-06:002009-02-11T02:12:00.000-06:001 star - Probably finished out of obligation. Usually I find something redeeming about them and rate them higher. I have to actively dislike a book for it to get a 1. And so far, only two books have gotten that rating, neither of which I've read recently so they are not on my blog.Lenore Appelhanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16664671644163369772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13444541.post-85156886281893997652009-02-10T22:13:00.000-06:002009-02-10T22:13:00.000-06:00I use a rating system on one blog and not on the o...I use a rating system on one blog and not on the other. It was hysterical to read Beth Fantaskey's reaction to getting a "winged monkey" lol http://persnicketysnark.blogspot.com/2009/01/persnickety-snark-rating-system.html

I think rating systems are necessary because it is possible to like something but grade it low. And the exact opposite too. Ratings allow you to be a little more methodical in your reviews.Adelehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13025434037081684606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13444541.post-11670034355005035312009-02-10T21:12:00.000-06:002009-02-10T21:12:00.000-06:00I think that reviews help, but they are still some...I think that reviews help, but they are still someone's opinion who may or may not share my opinion. But I agree with you; I like the half-stars in LT. Sometimes ratings don't tell the whole story and might be based on "I didn't like the title, it was misleading so I gave it 3 out of 5" Even though the book could have been fantastic!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
