Tuesday Thingers!

Prior to today, were you aware of Open Shelves Classification? Have you helped to classify any books yet? Is this something you are interested in? Did you know that if you classify any books, it will also show you who else has classified the book?

Prior to today I was NOT aware of the Open Shelves Classification. Apparently I don't scroll down the pages much! I might be interested from time to time in classifying a book (if I remember). I tried to check it out on the Great Gatsby's page just now and it said something to the effect of this round of classifications are over. So I couldn't really see the new feature to try it out.

Sometimes it's hard to classify a book, what do you think?

That kind of sucks, I hadn't noticed any books whose classifications were over! Maybe because it's popular, they didn't want to store all that much data.

I think it's hard sometimes, but given that all fiction goes in the "fiction" category, it's pretty easy with this system. I would prefer a little more division on this than they have, but not to crazy levels. =)

  6. I thought it was easy because all the books I classified were fiction.

  7. Meghan- Yeah I'm going to have to try another title! Yeah I agree, enough division so you can separate books that don't go together but not so much that the categories are really random/specific.

    robin_titan- Me neither!

sharonanne- I keep learning about new features all the time. Good Reads is fun too but their interface is a little harder for me to work.

caite- Yeah! I noticed the same thing :/

    Adele- Thanks again!

Lenore- Yeah that wouldn't be bad, I need to go poke around some more!
