Top Teen Books Meme

I stole this from Jocelyn!

The following list of books teens love, books teens should read, and books adults who serve teens should know about was compiled IN ABSOLUTELY NO SCIENTIFIC MANNER and should be taken with a very large grain of salt.

Put an “X” next to the books you’ve read
Put a “+” next to the books you LOVE
Put a “#” next to the books you plan on reading
Tally your “X”s at the bottom
Share with your friends!

Read: 16

Have to Read: 17

And.... I suck! LOL! Hopefully I'll get to read more of these soon!

How about you?

  1. I've read 9 of them and will probably never read more than that. I even wish I could have back the parts of my teen years that I wasted with VC Andrews. ;)

  2. I've read 38... that's not sooo bad. Lots on there that are in the towering tower of T.B.R. and now I've got new titles to add to the tower.

  3. I have only read 9. I suck!

    -Senfaye :)

  4. I've read 24...not great but not terrible either.

I've also posted this on my blog. Fun meme, thanks for sharing.

  5. I've only read 9! I suck more than you!

  6. I've read 42 but I live this list. Great idea.

  7. I've read thirteen -with many more from the list on my shelves that I'm planning to read. Some of them don't really deserve to be on the list. I wonder who made it?

LOVE that you're planning to read FitA!

  8. I've read 20, so not too terrible, but not great...
I have 23 on my list to read, but I already own a lot of them, it's just a matter of time.

  9. I've only read 11, but there a several on the list that I plan to read later this year (like Hunger Games). My review of Uglies will post tomorrow - I loved it!

  10. I've read Flowers in the Attic (and the rest of that series), one of the Artemis Fowl books, I have Stardust on my shelf right now, read Lord of the Flies and To Kill a Mockingbird twice, loved Wicked Lovely and most of Twilight series, Eragon, Hatchett (and the other book in this series), The Lightening Thief (and The Sea of Monsters), the Harry Potter series two and a half times, Lord of the Rings (and The Hobbit- would love to re-read), and Uglies.

Looks like you've read more than I have!

  11. Anonymous7:07 AM

I have read only 3, Uglies, The book thief and Twilight.

But many of these are on my wishlist, that has to be something.

  12. haha I didn't even bother posting mine because I've only read like 10 or so.

  13. Yikes! I read only 13. But I have another dozen or so in the house and few more on the wish list, so I'm not totally out of it.

  14. I've read 12 but have a bunch of them on my list to read. Flowers in the Attic? i guess that's more of a book teens love rather than should read. Of course, I read it as a teen, lol.

I am going to post this on my blog later.

  15. Don't feel bad. I've only read 16 (I think) and I didn't even finish a couple of them! Gives us something to do!

  16. Yeah, I hadn't read very many either. But a lot were on my TBR list, so at least I plan on reading them someday!:)

  17. fun meme, I love The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series.
    16 read is good!

  18. I'd only read 18 myself!
WHO PUT THIS LIST TOGETHER and based on what criteria I wanna know.!!
I'm not bitter, I know there is LOTS of fabulosity in the world that I've never heard of... but...ya know...

  19. I read 30
    and want read another 18
    I fail!!!

  20. Hang on a sec GOSSIP GIRL but no WRINKLE IN TIME!

    This is unjust.

  21. Looks like we are all planning to read more for the most part and I agree some of the list is rather strange!

  22. Quick response to the question about who put this together: it is something I put together in response to the BBC 100 book meme that was all over Facebook awhile ago. I have lots of teens and teen librarian friends, and solicited suggestions from them. That's why I said it was compiled in absolutely no scientific manner -- it's entirely subjective and based on personal experience. We know there are some things missing, and there's going to be disagreement...but as teen librarians in public libraries, we tried to put together a balanced list, encompassing "classics," "literature," and books teens actually read.
