The Ice Queen by Alice HoffmanThis is kind of a combo lookalikes/hardcover vs. paperback, why not right!
So for the first two, the exact lookalikes I'm going to have to go with Luna because of the more natural color palette. And for the two versions of Luna, the hardcover vs. paperback, I'll go with the paperback (which is also the lookalike, confusing enough for you!) When I see the hardcover for some reason I don't see it as a butterfly right away, not sure why. And for the Ice Queen, it looks very very similar, what do you think? Same photo?
Which do you prefer? And hardcover or paperback?? And is The Ice Queen the exact same photo?

I think The Ice Queen is the same cover. I actually prefer the paperback cover of Luna without the cropped person in it.

ReplyDeleteHmm, I prefer the bottom 2 covers. I like how natural The Ice Queen looks, but I also like the simple black of the hardcover Luna.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the paperback Luna (which wasn't there a paperback cover before this one?). It's really eye-catching with the black. I do like the hardcover design, just not the moth.

ReplyDeleteI also didn't realize it was a butterfly on the hardcover at first. I think I like Luna's paperback out of all of them best.
ReplyDeleteI totally missed that it was a butterfly and had to scroll up to see it again. I'm positive that Ice Queen is the same photo as the rest. At first I was going to say no b/c her mouth is completely closed w/Ice Queen but then I noticed that the butterfly wing is in the same spot on the chin and the lines on her neck matched the other photos perfectly. And I'm pretty sure that it would be difficult to make the same lines unless it was the same picture. I like the cover of Ice Queen best.

ReplyDeleteThis is a good one! I definitely think they are all the same photo (with her shirt photoshopped out in the Hoffman cover).
ReplyDeleteHumm. I like the hardcover (black) one too. It's way more striking to me than the others. The bottom cover doesn't look like the same photo because the mouth is different.
ReplyDeleteThe blue butterfly reminds me of the one on Jenna Fox (I *think* there's a blue butterfly on the cover of that).
Definitely the same photo for Ice Queen. They just photoshopped out the shirt. But my favorite is the Luna paperback.

ReplyDeleteWhen you commented that you had a butterfly lookalike post coming up, I thought it might be these three books! The first two are definitely the same photo, but I'm not sure about the Alice Hoffman one. It's a different photo, but it might be the same model.
