The paperback cover is more poetic to me. It also definitely says angels more so. While they both say snowstorm I think the paperback says it in a more interesting and original way.

I really liked the first one. Even though it was more because of the shadow and the photo angle and less because of the story summary

The second would catch a little bit more of my attention if I happen to pass these two in a bookstore.
ReplyDeleteI actually prefer the hard cover. Something about snowflakes always gets me. The paperback is sort of soft and gentle though. But I'm not a fan of having people on covers generally.
ReplyDeleteI'm more enthralled by the hardcover, but I feel like the paperback cover might have more to do with the plot and the story.

ReplyDeleteI think the paperback is gorgeous, too, though I do like the snowflakes on the hardcover a lot, now that Cat mentions it. Still, the silhouette isn't working for me either, bermudaonion. So I'll go with paperback.

ReplyDeleteThe second one kind of reminds me of the cover for "Ash" (which I love), so my vote goes to that one. :) I do like the colors of the second one, but the silhouette is just kind of weird.

ReplyDeleteI'm with you in liking the paperback more too. But is in a weird square shaped paperback like that image? Not a fan of the shape, I can just see it sticking out of my bookshelf and annoying me.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen the paperback one...but that's so cool! I like it, maybe more than the hardcover. They both look similar but the second one appeals to me the most. Very nice :)
