Welcome to the next stop on The Lonely Hearts Club Blog Tour! To start of with here is a bit about the book if you are not familiar with it!
Amazon.com:
Penny is sick of boys and sick of dating. So she vows: no more. It's a personal choice. . .and, of course, soon everyone wants to know about it. And a few other girls are inspired. A movement is born: The Lonely Hearts Club (named after the band from Sgt. Pepper). Penny is suddenly known for her nondating ways . . . which is too bad, because there's this certain boy she can't help but like. . . .
Now for something really exciting, and exclusive video from author Elizabeth Eulberg!

Wow!!!! What a super vlog and how cool that you got an exclusive!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun video. I loved it! I am going to be blogging about it on my teaching blog because pretty soon a group of my girls will be reading Pride and Prejudice for a book club. I hadn't heard that she was working on her adaptation of this book until I saw the video. I can't wait. I am also looking forward to getting a copy of Scones and Sensibility to read sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteI just realized my mix up in the last comment. I had seen that you are reading Scones and Sensibility right now on your side bar. Then, even though I started watching the video knowing Elizabeth wrote the Lonely Heart's Club, as soon as she started talking about Prom and Prejudice in my mind I was thinking she wrote Scones and Sensibility - haha. Either way both The Lonely Hearts Club and Scones and Sensibility look like they will be fun books. Once Prom and Prejudice is out it will be a fun book to match with Scones and Sensibility I assume.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in high school/college, I loved studying Shakespeare in class and then noticing different ways they are adapted/pop up in current publications. I am excited that now there are books coming out where my students can read a classic and then have examples of modern pairings.
