This Week In Books Or You Might Want to Look Away *SHAME*

So this happened to be the week I hit up 2 of my favorite used book stores and the library had everything for 25 cents so because of that I got ALOT of books this week!

Monday:

Beedle the Bard came from Amazon and Diary of a Chav from Bookmooch!

Tuesday:

Got this from LibraryThing's Early Reviewer's Program. Two books in less than a week from Early Reviewer's!

Wednesday:

Got this from the publisher for review.

Thursday:

So these were all from the library sale where everything was 25 cents. I got Dial L For Loser and Girls On Film in case my sister didn't have those two, she had one and the other she wasn't sure if she even wanted. So they are mine for now. Empress of the World was part of a Lookalikes post awhile back, check it out here. I keep hearing about Eva Ibbotson so I thought it would be wise to scoop up one of her books. And I also keep hearing Cathy Hopkins's series is sort of like the Georgia Nicolson series!

Jenny Green came from bookmooch and Persistence of Memory for possible review.

Friday:

Got these from the Barnes and Noble used section! Everything under $5

These were from Half Price Books. Don't think I've ever gone to Half Price Books and Barnes and Noble on the same day, because look what happens! Glass Houses and Speak were strongly suggested by Steph over at Reviewer X. My goal for this trip was to get the coupon calendar for next year. Probably a bad idea, shouldn't ever go there but we all know that's never going to happen so may as well save a few bucks when i go!

How to Be Bad came from the very sweet Sharon of Sharon Loves Books and Cats who found it for me last weekend while she was out book shopping in NYC. Thanks again Sharon! Kiss Me Kill Me and Kisses and Lies came for review!

Saturday:

Misadventures came for possible review.

So what did you get this week? Been buying a lot of books for gifts? I know I have! Got a whole order of books for gifts in from Amazon this week! What books are you buying for gifts? I got, for my sister who decided a few specific books that she wanted were ok to buy her, the latest Gossip Girl book. For my grandma American Wife and for my dad an Obama book among other things. A few weeks ago I gave my friend Twilight *snickers* can't wait to see what she says about it.

  1. Well I'm off to try and make some room for all of these books :P And read of course!

  5. You got some really great books this week! I am so excited for you. I miss Half Price Books. I used to buy books there all the time, but we don't have one where I live now.

You will love Speak. It is so good. There is a movie too, but it is nowhere as good as the book.

    Happy reading!

  7. I'm so jealous! I just got back from Barnes & Noble looking looking looking for a book under $10 but I came up empty. So sad. I wanted something chick-lit but didn't find anything I overwhelming wanted. Next week I'm heading to Borders though to search their bargain section!

  8. jesus! maybe it's a good thing that you don't go to Strand Books!

My Jenny Green claim fell through on bookmooch. So annoyed.

  21. Melissa- You are too polite LOL! I'm very excited though :)

bermudaonion- Good move! I buy my sister lots of books I want to read someday too!

Shooting Stars Mag- I know it's pretty psycho. i almost didn't want to post it, or lie but i figured you guys sort of know me by now :P What books did you get for review?

Zoealea- You have a pretty nice stack to hold you over til your next report card!

Shalonda- That's horrible! Everywhere should have Half Price Books! I actually saw the Speak movie and I was sobbing at the end :(

    S. Krishna- Me too! Might have to read it over my quick holiday break!

Amee- Borders sometimes has great stuff in the bargain section! I hope you find something :D

sharonanne- Yeah- I would go crazy there, like buy too many books I couldn't carry them home let alone out of the store. That sucks your mooch fell through, i mooched something tonight i was itching to mooch something!

After The Blackbird Sings- I could read them in a year but it would take up a good chunk of the year. :P

avisannschild- LOL! I think we enable each other :P too much fun! Oooh what did you get?

Veens- You should have bought it!

TruBlu93- Trust me, it's never been this extreme that i can recall!

The Story Siren- I think insane is definitely the right word! The crazy thing is i actually found some room for these, they aren't on the floor :P

Valeria- I'm so excited by the concept for these books! I know, I figure when i see things i want for a few dollars i better buy them or i'll never see them again!

carmen alexis- it's so exciting when you find them! good luck!

Dar- LOL, at least i make everyone else look good!

runa- The Barnes and Noble used section is amazing! It's not my local B&N but i was in the city that has it for lunch and i had to go. Only go a few times a year at the most!

The Not So Closet Geeks- I'm so glad they are good, I hope they don't make me too sad!

Vanessa- I know, i almost wanted to lie this week! Happy Reading to you too!

Steph- I can't wait to hear about what's waiting for you in the US :P

    Michelle- They look/sound cute!

  22. You got "Tales of Beedle the Bard" by J.K. Rowling! Good for you! I have Rachel Caine's book done to read in 2009.

  23. There's no Half Price Books near us, and our Barnes & Noble doesn't sell used books. Either shop would be dangerous for me... maybe not so much for the budget as for the extra strain it would put on the bookshelves!

    ReplyDelete
  24. OMG! That is a ton of books...lol Happy Reading

    ReplyDelete
  25. Wow, what a haul! I really enjoyed City of Bones and I am waiting for Vampire Academy to come in at the library. I feel like I'm drowning in books since I picked up 30 books at a library book sale and another 7 or so from the Scholastic book sale but of course there are still more that I want. :-p

    ReplyDelete
  26. That's a lot of books, but you can't turn down a 25 cents sale! That just wouldn't be practical! :)

  27. I actually haven't opened the box yet, so I'm trying to pretend I don't remember what's in it. I'll let you know (via a blog post) after Xmas!

  28. J. Kaye- I need to make sure to read Beedle the Bard soon or it would be for years, and how bad would that be!

Dawn- You should see some of the inventive places I put books haha! I'm lucky that there are several Half Price Books in the surrounding area! I think Barnes and Nobles with Used Sections are pretty rare so whenever I'm in that town with a little bit of time I make sure to go!

    Serena- It's totally too many!

debbiesworld- It's always that way isn't it! After this week I was like I need to take a break from buying. And then of course I have to stop at the library and what are they having, a bag sale! Can't pass that up!

Anna- Exactly! I figure I'm sure I'll want this books some other day if I don't get them now and then it will kill me to pay full price!

avisannschild- You haven't opening it! Oh my goodness, I sometimes make family members open packages for me when I'm on the phone with them because I have to know what's inside! I'll definitely be watching for your post!
