Such a Pretty Girl by Laura Wiess
Kissed by an Angel by Elizabeth Chandler
Beastly by Alex Flinn
This is a great one because there isn't a duplicate photograph but has several similar elements. Black background, flower, and for the first two, similar handwritten title treatments. I can't pick a favorite, I like how simple the first one is but I like the colors of the flower in the second and how the third combines the flower with the type.
Which is your favorite?
I think they're all kind of creepy.
ReplyDeleteI like the first one best. The decaying flower really conveys something the others just can't.
ReplyDeleteSuch A Pretty Girl is a really fantastic, creepy book. I think I like its cover best.
ReplyDeleteI must be a fan of this kind of cover design... I would probably pick up any of these to read them.
I love the Beastly cover!!
ReplyDeleteThen I think the Kissed by an Angel because I like the saturated colors. All three are well done.
The first one. Love the creepiness.
ReplyDeleteI just added Beastly to my wishlist. This is the first I've heard of it, and I love new spins on old fairy tales.
ReplyDeleteI can't decide!! But for the most part I'd have to agree with bermudaonion. They are all kind of creepy.
ReplyDeleteI don't really like the last one all that much. And it's hard to pick between the first two. I think I might go with the first one. I like the fact that the flower is wilted and decaying and the title has "pretty" in the title. Definitely makes me want to see what the book is about.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mishel, that's exactly what I thought!
ReplyDeleteI like the first!
ReplyDeleteThe first catches my eye because the rose is dying.. I'm intrigued to read the story. :)
ReplyDeleteI wonder why the title of the first has the dying flower...that would make me pick it up and read it...so if that is the goal of the cover, this one works best out of the three.
ReplyDeleteI like Such a Pretty Girl's cover best, and it is a great book. (Of course, Beastly's a good book too.)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the other, but I really do like the covers of those two because they fit the contents very well.
Oh, I love them all. I can't pick a favorite!

I like them all. But I think I'm leaning more towards the Elizabeth Chandler book! Love the color of the flower
ReplyDeleteUpon first glance the first one looked like a dirty kleenex :/
ReplyDeleteI do like the colors of the second one, but the third is my favorite just because I really like the creative choice of font.
I love the first one. It makes me want to read the book ... I know, I know, don't judge a book by it's cover. But I do :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree - very creepy. Especially the dying flower
Each one of these would catch my attention on a shelf, but I think I like Such a Pretty Girl best because of the dying flower. It really does lend a eerie feel to the title.
ReplyDeleteKissed by an Angel, for sure. The colors are so vibrant. But with a tad bit of bias, because I've actually read that one. It's a wonderful book, too. I picked it up because of the cover, actually. And because it was huge.
ReplyDeleteI like the first one. I read the book and I think this cover matches the book. It's creepy.
ReplyDeletesuch a pretty girl's cover is my favourite - like the wrinkled-up flower!
ReplyDeleteI liked Kissed By An Angel best--the first flower is wilted. I like how simple, yet stunning they are!
ReplyDeleteSuch a Pretty Girl is my favourite cover. I love it. It's so simple but so interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe first one. Definitely. It does something new with a familiar theme.
ReplyDeleteSuch A Pretty Girl, definately best cover.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for Kissed by an Angel, because it is pretty, not scary.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Kelsey for this one! Great discussion everyone! I actually haven't read any of them yet but I think I'm going to start with Kissed by an Angel!
