This Year In Movies: January

This month I watched

Napoleon Dynamite- Me and my sister watch this about once a year. It cracks us up everytime!

Camp Rock- Actually better than I expected, everything was cute besides the oldest Jonas's hair, that was just distracting.

Sweet Land- Sweet movie!

The Wackness- This movie was awesome! I heard about it from a friend and just knew I had to see it. Definitely will be watching again!

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button-
Wow. This was like the greatness of two movies. I loved it. Just bought a book of F. Scott Fitzgerald stories that has the short story in it so I can read it as well. I'm surprised I had never read it seeing as The Great Gatsby is one of my favorite books!

Towelhead- Interesting. Never made up my mind about this one. Anyone else see it?

Hancock- Fun-ish.

My Best Friend's Girl- This was pretty funny!

Aa Ab Laut Chalen- Loved this one minus some ugly 90s fashions.

The Duchess- Ok, made me kind of angry but I think that was kind of the point.

The Promotion- Quirky, totally random cast of actors.

Tropic Thunder- Even randomer cast of actors and collaborators. Pretty stupid actually, not sure if that's a good stupid or a bad stupid, probably a bad stupid.

The Ultimate Gift- Sweet movie that made me a little teary eyed.

Strange Wilderness- Stupider than I could have imagined! :/

Question, how would you feel about possibly one actual movie review a week, would that interest you?

  1. I would love to see a regular movie review. I am a movie nut though that passion has taken a backseat to reading the past few months.

Review the classics that some of these younguns don't know, Hughes stuff. You know, the Molly era lol

  2. Wow ... I can't believe how many of these I haven't seen! A movie review would be great. I also love movies and I really feel that books and movies are just different ways to do the same thing - explore lives that you don't lead.

We just watched Hamlet 2. Have you seen that one?

  3. This month I only watched Revolutionary Road and half of that Jesse James movie with the long title and Brad Pitt.

  4. Oooh I'd love it if you talked about movies more. A lot of the ones you watched this month I've never even heard of, so that'd be great to hear about new ones.

  5. I'd like to see a movie review too. Old or new, doesn't matter. We're always looking for DVDs to add to our NetFlix queue.

  6. I would love to see a movie review. Perhaps you can review that dvd covers too.

  7. Thanks for the feedback everyone! I usually watch about 3ish movies via my Netflix subscription a week so it will be one of those. It could be anything from a new release to just a random movie! Or maybe even a tv show I watch on dvd! I'm really excited about this!

Adele- I was going through an 80s spell about a month ago, I wish I was doing this one!

Kristen M- No I haven't seen it but it's on my queue! How did you like it?

Lenore- Oooh I want to see Revolutionary Road!

Taren- Yay! I'm so glad you think so!

Beth F- It will probably be something I watch via Netflix! I heart netflix!

sharonanne- Sure, I could talk about the dvd covers!

  8. Camp Rock. Ha ha!
Um.....The Bride Wars was cute. Have you seen that yet, Alea?

  9. I'd love to see more movie reviews...I never know what to watch.

I love Napolean Dynamite too. It's been playing in re-runs on E! and you can start anywhere in the middle of it and still be laughing within minutes. It's so random!

  10. Did you read Towelhead? I liked the book very much, but I don't know if I will be watching the movie as I have heard it was just so-so.

  11. You are a pop culture junkie! My whole family liked the Benjamin Button movie.

  12. Wow! What a list. :) Yes, a regular movie review would be fun.

  13. Yay movies! I'd like to see them.

I really want to see The Wackness still. And I thought Camp Rock was fun too.

  14. I haven't heard of most of the movies you listed! I think a movie review would be quite fun..

  15. I just saw a promo for The Wackness - looks good. And I agree - Napolean Dynamite is a guaranteed laugh!

  16. A movie review a week would be great - then I wouldn't feel quite so much like I was blatantly ripping you off. =)

I was really torn about Towelhead - honestly, it made me so uncomfortable, but there were moments that were very good. I'm interested in the book, also - isn't the book always better??

  17. Bookworm- I haven't seen it yet but definitely want to, will probably be on dvd when i see it!

Kimberly Derting-Exactly, the whole movie is just great!

Emily- I haven't read it yet but I have a copy, hopefully I'll like it or understand it more than the movie.

bermudaonion- It was so so great!

Keri Mikulski- Yay I'm glad you think so!

Shooting Stars Mag- Can't wait to hear what you think of them!

Michelle- I have random taste lol!

    Luanne- It was great!

Elizabeth- Hahah! I agree with you about Towelhead it went back and forth to both extremes. Yeah I think for the most part the book is always better!
