Love and Other Natural Disasters by Holly Shumas
Labor of Love by Cara Muhlhahn
So that's totally the same picture, plus or minus the ring. I do wonder if the ring is in the original image or not. I actually really like both of them, the colors and the title treatments. I can't pick a favorite!
Which is your favorite?
Thanks to Melissa for pointing out this lookalike!
I like them both for different reasons. I like the top one because it has the world upside down at the top and I like the bottom one because it shows more of the woman.
ReplyDeleteI think I like the top one a tad bit better. Great find!
ReplyDeleteI think the photo on the top one is a bit too close up, it took me a minute to see that it was a pregnant woman.
ReplyDeleteMan, you are good at this, Alea.
ReplyDeleteI like the composition of the first one, but think the image of the pregnant woman has lost too many details (eg, the wrinkled shirt) to be effective.
ohhh you are soo good at this, I really enjoy this feature.
ReplyDeleteThe top one makes me think about the story a little bit more, but I personally like the look of the bottom one.
ReplyDeleteGreat find! ;)
I like the color of the bottom one, but I also like the upside-down house on the first one. Overall, I'd pick the first one.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you guys like this one! I can't take credit for it, it's all Melissa's great eye!
ReplyDeleteI think I agree with H, I like the second one only because the top one's a little too busy to see that she's pregnant right off (although I love the whole upside down world, and I think the title is better). It's still hard for me to believe that so many books use the *exact* same images! Amazing...and awesome that you share with us.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alea!!!
I agree 100% with Berumdaonion!
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice the ring was different until you mentioned it. I really like the colors on the top one, but like the picture of the woman better on the bottom.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a great one, Alea! I agree with Melissa (and others): I definitely like the colours of the top one better (and the overall composition), except I like the fact that the bottom one shows more of the woman.
ReplyDeletei like the top one better, there is more to it. the bottom one is kind of boring
ReplyDeleteI really like the bottom one, the colours really caught my eye. But to me the hand with the ring looks more natural than the one without.
ReplyDeleteI think the Holly Shumas book is slightly better.
ReplyDeleteHere's one for your list--same cover as Stephenie Keunart's Joey Ramone book:

Whoa, Brooke, good catch in the above comment! That cover is so JOEY RAMONE that I have trouble seeing it on another book. Will be interesting to see Alea's post!
ReplyDeleteAs for this one, the top cover is my favorite--I just really like the green there.
Thanks for participating everyone!
ReplyDeleteThanks Brooke, I will definitely post that!
