Undercurrent by Bill Evans and Jim Hall (album)
Tethered by Amy MacKinnon
So the Undercurrent album is one of several variations on the same released over the last 18 or so years. Not actually sure when the original was released. But I think for this one I like the second one (the book) the most. I just like the colors and title treatment and layout much better.
Which is your favorite?

Golijou Oceana (cd)
I like the book better, too, but the treatment of the album works well with it's title. I'm amazed at you spotting these things - you sure have an eagle eye.
ReplyDeletedefinitely the book.. its such a neat photo, though!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I like the overall blue-ness of the album. Very... morose, in a way. Which I like. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the book better - the yellow against the blue definitely catches my eye. I'm a cover whore, I'd definitely pick up that book!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna go with Steph Su. I really like the blue-ness of the album cover.
ReplyDeleteI like the book cover better, too. I think it's the colours that please me.
ReplyDeleteBook for sure. Like you said, the colors work better.
ReplyDeleteDefinately the book!
ReplyDeleteThe book. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the cover of Tethered. Much much better then the first one. I think the font of the name of the book in the first one is way too big.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Tethered is much better
ReplyDeleteI like the book version better, but both kinda creeps me out. I have a fear of drowning, so this does not sit well with me. Plus, it reminds me a little bit of Ophelia
ReplyDeleteit looks like the same floating girl.
ReplyDeleteI really like the deep blue of the first cover.
ReplyDeleteTotally the book! How did you discover such a strange lookalike!?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. The treatment on the book is much more appealing.
ReplyDeleteI like the book better, it looks more real to me, or something, I'm not sure, lol.
ReplyDeleteThat picture is actually a photograph taken by Toni Frissell at Weeki Wachee Mermaid pool in Florida, 1947.
ReplyDeleteWhat's really odd is that I have a black and white photo version of that - I've used it off and on as desktop wallpaper for ages.
ReplyDeleteI like the album cover better, the dark and shadows and it flows...
ReplyDeleteI like the book cover.
ReplyDeleteI like the book better too. But kind of creepy!
ReplyDeleteI like the second one better too but I like the font on the first one.
ReplyDeleteI like the book better. The colors are appealing.
ReplyDeleteThis was a fun one wasn't it! Thanks for the information Annon, I love to learn about the origins about things and see where they end up!
ReplyDeleteI blogged about Tethered and another lookalike cover (using a different but similar image) here. I also just came across another post about the same image (with four other lookalikes!) at Caustic Cover Critic (scroll down past the first book/album lookalikes).
