This Year In Movies: February

This is the most pathetic month I've had in movie watching in a long time! Only 4 movies and 1 tv show! I did watched part of The Tudors Season 2 but haven't finished it yet. And I also had to get my sister 2 movies for school so that decreased what I watched. Here's hoping next month is better!

I also tried something new this month, writing reviews for several movies, which I also linked to here. Did you enjoy that?

Things You Can Tell Just By Looking At Her- Really liked this one! Check out my review here!

Nip/Tuck Season 5 Part 1- My favorite season of Nip/Tuck so far. Can't wait to see what happens in Part 2, it ends at a totally insane cliffhanger! I found this season to be more humorous than the other more depressing seasons.

The Music Man- This was a cute movie, I can't believe I had never seen it!

Subway Stories- Another great one! Check out my review here!

LOL- Kind of different but interesting. Checke out my review here!

Private Fears In Public Places- This movie was strange. I felt like it didn't have any kind of resolution which was disappointing.

What did you watch this month! Feel free to blog about it and link back here! I'd love to see it!

  1. I love The Music Man :) Seeing the cover in your post made me smile! There's also a remake with Kristen Chenowith (Galinda in Wicked, Olive in Pushing Daisies, Ugly Betty cameo) and Matthew Broderick!

I did enjoy your movie reviews! Sadly, I'm really bad at watching movies - I would check them out from the library, but they never made it to my DVD player! :/ Someday...

  2. I watched the Dead Like Me movie that just came out and it was bittersweet. It was good to see the characters again after a few years but sad for the people that weren't there and at how everyone is older.
I thought How to Lose Friends and Alienate People was okay (mostly because I love Simon Pegg) and was pleasantly surprised by Ghost Town with Ricky Gervais.
I didn't like Henry Poole is Here (Luke Wilson).

I'm glad you've added movie reviews because I think that books and movies give me the same sort of satisfaction a lot of the time.

  6. Ah, the Tudors. When the first season came out my history class (we did tudor history) used to come in and ask my teacher whether certain parts were accurate. Quite a lot of stupid details were changed (like they merged his 2 sisters into one person) but I love it anyway.

I also love The Music Man. I am a big fan of musicals from that era though. You should watch Bye Bye Birdie if you haven't already. That one is fun too and stars Ann-Margaret and I looove her.

  8. I haven't watched many movies here lately either. Whenever I watch anything it' Frasier. I got the first four seasons in January so I've been watching that. I'm starting season 3 today!

I did actually catch a movie on ACM channel earlier in the month. It was Apollo 13. Yes, I'd never seen it before. I can't believe it either. I thought it was really good. I almost cried! :P

  9. I think the two movies that stood out for me in February were Coraline (of course!) and Rachel Getting Married-Anne Hathaway did a great job in playing such a different role.

  10. I can't believe you'd never seen The Music Man, either! I grew up on it--we watched it least six times a year, probably more.

I haven't seen The Music Man, but my brother used to blare the soundtrack constantly. He was in band and I think they performed a couple of the songs at some point. After awhile I was like I couldn't give a shit less about the Wells Fargo wagon!

Anywho, do you have TIVO or anything? I could recommend you like a million and a half fantastic old movies that are on TCM all the time.

Kristen M.- I've got the Dead Like Me movie on my queue, and I just watched How to Lose Friends as well! It got a bit annoying after awhile, but I loved the little romance! I thought Ghost Town was ok and haven't seen Henry Poole, but I do like Luke Wilson!

Lenore- Will definitely need to see on dvd!

bermudaonion- There's a first time for everything!

Charley- TV shows can sure take awhile, but if they are good they are worth it :)

H- I'm really curious now how far the show will go, i'd love to see the child rule!

    Cat- I should watch that!

Amee- Aww I remember Apollo 13 being sad too

Emily- I definitely need to see both of those!

    Jena- I know, it's nuts!

    Taren- you are too funny!
