Words to Live By by C.S. Lewis
The Stepmother by Carrie Adams
So, for the first two, not the same picture but mighty close with the same type of saturation. I'm going to have to go with Twilight on this one because of how simple it is. It really irks me the way the text is slapped onto the image for Words to Live By. And the third cover is a refreshing take on the apple in hands, less menacing if you wish. I like how the apple glitters!
Which is your favorite?
Thanks to S. Krishna and Ashley and Irish for suggesting this lookalike!

Twilight and Words to live by are so similar. I am surprised I've never seen the cover of Words to live by. I like Twilight the best. Stepmothers cover is also good.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking Twilight.. its just so even and balanced
ReplyDeleteI am drawn to anything with an apple on the front. And the offering of the apple is so very Eve/temptation.
ReplyDeleteI like the first and third covers...that middle cover is just off-putting...and too similar to twilight for me.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the second one is trying to cash in on the success of Twilight.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely first and third.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved the cover of Twilight, but now that I'm thinking about it really doesn't seem that relevant to the book, does it? Maybe in a symbolic sense? Whatever, it's really pretty.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I'm going with the last one. Seems like the apple in hand cover fits that story better. And it's pretty too.
I agree that the words over the second cover don't work, although I kinda like the blurriness of the image. They are all pretty!
ReplyDeleteHere's a fourth one: http://content-0.powells.com/cgi-bin/imageDB.cgi?isbn=9781400032570 (which ironically is an alternate cover for a book I've already featured in a lookalike post)
Sorry, that link didn't work. Here the correct one:

Thanks Avis! I just added it!
ReplyDeleteMy fave is still the Twilight cover but I must say I love The Stepmother cover so much that I purchased the book the other day. Yes, sadly I am a book cover whore.
ReplyDeleteNow that I see them all in a row, I actually think I like the fourth cover best. Or maybe it's just that I'm hungry and that apple looks like the yummiest of the bunch!
ReplyDeleteI personally hate Twilight so that cover is out for me lol, I like the third cover the best... the apple is just so pretty!
ReplyDeleteAnd Twilight didn't get popular until like last year. The book came out in 2006, while the C.S. Lewis one came out in 2007 so he didn't do it because of Twilight's popularity.
Wow, I didn't realize there were so many apple in hand covers! ;)
ReplyDeleteI saw that CS Lewis book awhile back and wanted to share with you but could never remember the name of it. :) glad you found it.
ReplyDeleteThe Twilight cover looks the best.
ReplyDeleteTwilight wins this one easily.
ReplyDeleteHow old is the CS Lewis cover! The best thing about Twilight is its covers! That series has such pretty covers.
ReplyDeleteToo funny. The apple from the beginning of time! I'm the first and third camp.
ReplyDeleteI adore Twilight--beautiful, simple, and eyecatching. And I also love the sparkly apple in the Stepmother's cover...it hints at being lighter but so cute!
ReplyDeleteLot of awesome covers.
ReplyDeleteWords to Live By is wonderful. It's just soft and more welcoming and appealing. Even the way the hands and arms are is gentle. The Twilight cover is almost too harsh and I don't like the Stepmother cover colors quite as much. The last one looks pretty good, too.
ReplyDeleteThe first two covers are almost too similar to choose a favorite, but I think I would choose the Twilight cover even though there are parts of the other one that I like too. The stepmothers cover doesn't appeal to me, but the last one has a nice realistic look about it.
ReplyDeleteI like the sparkly of The Stepmother, but my favorite is the naturalness of Delivering Doctor Amelia.
ReplyDeleteI never knew that so many books used the apple in the hands like Twilight. I really like the Twilight cover though. The black background is a nice contrast to the white hands and red apple, and it's not too 'busy'.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I recently received my first blog award and I chose you to pass it on to!
I wonder if the other covers came out after the enormous frenzy of TWILIGHT?? I'm still partial to TWILIGHT like I have since day one. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, I never realized the similarity. I like Twilight's cover the best. :)
ReplyDeleteI vote Twilight!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'm glad you posted this one! I like the Twilight cover.
ReplyDeleteHere's yet another one!

No wait, that's a tomato, not an apple. But when I first saw it I thought "Haven't I seen a very similar book cover at the big chain bookstores?" Yes, I have!
