I actually have a funny dining story. I was at Red Robin with 3 of my friends and one of them said someone should say it was their birthday. I found this hilarious so when our cute waiter came over I told him, "It's my birthday" with a huge smile. He gave me a "yea, right" kinda look and said "When's your birthday" I had no idea what the date was, but my friends all started whispering and coughing the 19th so I said "January 19th" He just looked at me and said "It's February" at which point my friends broke out in laughter. After that he told us he always wanted to do that and he would play along. He brought us this huge ice cream cake slice thing, and had all the servers sing to us. We got hit on by some guys in the reastaurant who noticed the singing and laughed when they asked who's birthday it was. We left the waiter a really good tip! :D

  2. My favorite dining experience? I've had so many-I LOVE food!:) One of my most recent favorites was when my now husband and I visited a local Pan-Asian restaurant. After living in Chicago, we've become annoyed at the sad lack or variation and good food in our small little "city" in Missouri. (it's so not a city people!) We walked in, the place was decorated nicely and while I was there, I felt like I maybe had been transported back to a big city. Then, everything we ordered, beginning to end was AMAZING! I had a pasta/portabello mushroom dish. It restored our faith in food and somewhat the area we live in. :)

  4. I have a bunch favorite dining stories - This is just one of my favorite's because it struck me as really funny - once I was at a KFC and that had a buffet. And I go up with my same plate and start loading up on food. The worker guy yells after MISS MISS! YOU NEED A NEW PLATE! The entire restaurant turned and looked at me. I didn't see the plates as they were behind the buffet.

  5. One of my favorite ding experiences was when my friends and our dates all put on really fancy dresses (suits for the boys) and went out to Applebees. We had a grand time they even gave us fancy glasses to sip from. It was a lot of fun and it was nice to be able to get all dressed up for something.

  10. More like memorable and unusual dining experience: lunch many years ago at a restaurant in Segovia, Spain where they serve the best suckling pig -- while a hailstorm (our first and only) was going on outside (no hailstorms in Hawaii!).

    Count me in!

My most memorable dinning experience was when my sister and I went to Mexico to visit our grandma. We went out to this very nice restaurant and our waiter was very attractive. My grandma kept making comments about the waiter to us so we all were giggly. You had to be there but it was fun!

  12. This book sounds great! One of my favorite dining experiences was at an amazing restaurant in Florence. This was my first time out of the country, and I'll never forget eating incredible roasted chicken and pasta in Italy.

  13. One of my favorite dining experiences was when my husband (boyfriend at the time) and I were living in NYC and decided to go to Tabla at the spur of the moment after work one afternoon. Neither of us were really dressed up, it wasn't expected to be a special night. The waiter suggested the tasting menu to us, which we ordered. It was an EXPERIENCE. It took us almost 5 hours to eat dinner, with each plate coming out slowly, giving us time to enjoy it. We spent way too much money but it truly was an amazing night.

  15. I went to a lovely restaurant in Maine with my relatives and gorged myself on clam chowder that was so thick it stood up on the spoon, lobster steamed fresh and drowned in butter, and tons and tons of fresh rolls with yet more butter. (sigh) I still think fondly of that meal even though the restaurant has since closed.

  16. I think the most fun I ever had going out to dinner was at Logan's Grill in Kalamazoo, Michigan on a Friday night. It was the first time I'd ever been in K-zoo, we were visiting and getting thing finalized for college in the fall - so it was my first time seeing where I was going to be living for two years. I was there with my boyfriend and his family. We waited about an hour just to get a table - I guess because it was Friday. At Logan's, when you get to your table there is a bucket of peanuts on your table and you throw your shells on the floor. It was the first time any of us had been there - and we couldn't throw our shells on the floor - it just didn't feel right. But finally we did - it was kind of freeing actually... :) I'll always remember that night, we had lots of fun!

    Thanks for the contest!

  17. My favorite dining experience is when me my sister and my best friend went to The Mellow Mushroom with a bunch of people. We had a group of about 10 and our waitress was really funny and would come and chill at our table and we would throw wet wadded up straw wrappers at each other and just hang out and goof off. It was a lot of fun, and the pizza is fantastic! Plus the decorations are so awesome there, dragons on the wall, giant mushrooms in the middle of the room, it's all fairy tale!

My favorite dining experiance was for my cousins wedding 3 years ago. I loved the inside of the resturant, it was more of a cowboy/cowgirl themed. It was beautiful and the twice baked potatoes were awesome. :)

My family lived in Switzerland when I was growing up, and for special occasions we would drive out into the mountains to a beautiful old hotel. It was overlooking a lake, and had a huge waterfall right behind it. We'd sit out on the balcony and eat this completely glorious chocolate mousse. It was so rich and silky and unforgettable, and the setting made it even better. Delightful.

  29. One of my favorite dining experiences is when I go to Fazolis. It's an Italian restaurant (I think-they serve pasta) and the food is really good. Like, Olive Garden good. And they have nice way to let you know you're food is ready. For those who haven't been there, you get this round plastic thing, and when your food is ready it buzzes and lights up. Then you go get the food from the counter, kind of like fastfood, only tastier.

I love going out to eat just as well as cooking at home. i love food, cooking is my passion. so when i go out to eat, i love to sit down with some good pasta. my favorite dining experience is when i went to grand deluxe, a restaraunt similar to the cheesecake factory and i ordered this delicious pasta with carmelized pearl onions, crispy pancetta, savory sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, and warm pasta al dente.this dish was sweet, rustic, filled with flavor that your mouth craves for. at the end of the meal my stomach was filled and i went home a happy camper. Theres nothing like a tasty bowl of pasta that put a smile on your face at a end of a long day.

  40. My favorite dining experience was probably this summer. My mom brought some of her college students to Peru for a class and I got to come along. The waiter told us we had to eat their post famous dish. He said something in Spanish and we all agreed to try whatever it was. We were completely unsuspecting when it arrived- a cooked guinea pig! I'm a strict vegetarian so I didn't eat a bite, but it was a great experience to always know what you're ordering!

  41. One of my favorite dinning experiences has to be my birthday dinner for my eighteenth birthday. One of my really good friends wanted to take me out to eat at Red Lobster and so he invited me and two guest of choice. I ended up taking my little sister and my friend Lorena. We were going to all these diffrent locations and there was this like 2 hour wait because it happened to be on a Sunday so we went to one by my old job. We only ended up waiting for like twenty minutes and then we were seated. The food was excellent and of coarse the company couldn't be better, but the best part of the evening was when they got the waiters to sing happy birthday to me! I've never had anyone do that for me so when that happened I just completely melted! It was great!

There is this Indian restaurant in town where they have the best lunch buffet, $8 for all you can eat! My boyfriend and I go about once a month because it's so good. It's great because even though we only go once a month, they always recognize us, "One lemonade no ice and one water." It was great because last time we went with a group of friends and as we walked in we were given our drinks, my friends were very impressed. It was awesome. : )

The fellow always burns mine for me, the soft drinks are free, we sit on the patio of the bar outside with flat panel tv's all around playing country music videos, chatting with the other car people,it's something I look forward to! They have something like 200 really interestin cars to look at after eating! Have to work off the bag of Kettle Corn I buy with the free hotdog!

  47. Great contest!

My favorite dining experience...well I don't really have a particular favorite because I've had so many awesome ones.

Last year when I worked at AMC our whole crew of like 20 people were like a family. On many nights we'd go out to Shari's or some random food place that was still open at 1am and sit there for like 3 hours or more just talking and laughing and of course eating. So I don't really have a favorite dining experience you see because they were all amazing. I'm really sad our theatre closed last January because our little family kinda broke up in a way and moved on with our lives. It really really sucks.

One of my favorite places to eat was this really modern authentic mexican restaurants in Illinois. I felt so embarassed because I couldn't pronounce anything on the menu. My boyfriend was laughing at me and so the waiter, who was definitley cute, taught me how to say it. The waiter was definitley friendly and easy going and talked with us the whole night. It was so much fun.
