Thanks to Kate for suggesting this lookalike!

These are definitely my favorite kinds of the looklikes. Finding them where you least expect them and this is a fabulous one. After is definitely a stronger composition because of how simple it is. It's kind of funny how they both deal with pregnancy! Note the difference in the hair color!
Which do you prefer?

I read the words on the poster and couldn't figure out what it was trying to say.
ReplyDeleteSty? Sti? Stye?
Oooh. It's an acronym.
XD
I like After better because the model doesn't look as posed to me, if that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI like After better as the cover is not so busy. There is too much going on in the second one and the writing is over all of that.
ReplyDeleteis it sad that i burst out laughing after seeing the 2nd "cover". don't worry liv, i too didn't get what a sti was at first either.
ReplyDeleteI like the second one better. I think the rain looks so great with the girl.
ReplyDelete-Briana
Funny how they're both about pregnancy. I like the second better, it makes me feel less depressed.
ReplyDeleteLOL-I didn't read it right either the first time and was like ansti? What's that? My brain has not woken up this morning.
ReplyDeleteDo you mean the hair color between the two of the different hair colors on the first one? In the After cover, the models hair is pretty dark-almost black, and it looks like a really short cut, but when you look at the reflection, it's the same hair color from the Ad and has the bun hair style. (I think you just can't see the bun with the darker hair) I like the After cover better, but that hair thing is going to annoy me now.
I really like the book cover.
ReplyDeleteI like the After cover more...It seems less amateur...
ReplyDeleteGreat find!!!!!!
Did you see this article from Washington Post about lookalike cover art?
ReplyDeleteMysterious Cover Art
Cool article, but they're so behind the times! You're on #60 and they just noticed this trend?? =)
Wow, talk about sameness! I think I like the poster one more. Maybe I just like all the other colors that are on it. xD
ReplyDeleteAren't they the same girl? I can't see a big enough difference. And hair color is easily changed, so it's not unlikely.
ReplyDeleteWow, how coincidental!
ReplyDeleteGreenBeanTeenQueen- I mean between the two different pieces but yes in the reflection it's also different!
ReplyDeleteLorin- I hadn't seen that thanks! I week or so ago there was one in Entertainment Weekly about grass covers and it was really funny because they took a few really popular books like Harry Potter etc and made them into grass covers too!
Amee- Yup they are exactly the same girl!
The hair color is different, but the style is really similar.
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of After too.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny. You know what else is funny? Liv's comment. lol
ReplyDeleteI like the book version.
I found a lookalike a while back and then totally forgot about it. The cover was very similar to the book about Dressing Your Family in Corduroy and Denim or whatever it's called. But then I did not write down the other title and I forgot it. You probably have already discovered it anyway!
I really liked After, it is much cleaner than the poster.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think that the term STI (sexually transmitted infection) is so confusing when they've been using STD (sexually transmitted disease)for so long. The poster is way too busy. But I do like the gloomy setting on the poster.
Genevieve- The poster is from Australia so I guess that's their acronym for it!
