I read the first book a while ago, and I'm scratching my head the tiniest bit about that image fitting the content of the book. Then again, it's been a couple of years.
Here's the old cover. Interesting that they both use stacks of books! But the old one seems to fit the book better--although the new one is definitely more modern feeling and less airy-spiritual.
I think I like the new Girl Meets God cover better than the one Katie linked, but between it and the Academy X cover, it's kind of a toss-up for me. I like elements of both.
I am about as much of a shoe person as I am a book person, so I love them both. But I'd have to say number 1 is better because I can see the shoe more clearly.
Uh-oh, this pair was on my list of covers to post! You beat me to it! I agree with you, I like both for different reasons. And like Lenore, I don't like the shoes!
I like the top one. I have that same book and it doesn't have that cover.
I am sometimes disheartened by how these covers are reused all of the time. They changed nothing about the picture except the wood is darker in the second book's background.
I agree with you - the title on the top one is great, but the fact that you see more of the model on the second one is good too.
ReplyDeleteI like the cover where you see more of the model. And I agree, the title on first cover is better.
ReplyDeleteDon't like the shoes, but the pose is great.
ReplyDeleteLOL Lenore... I agree..
ReplyDeleteok I like the second and here is why... I like darker wood. Its true... I like the deeper colors of the second one.
I like Bermudaonions response too as you do see a bit more of the model - the first one she is too close.
Great find!
I like the first one, by far.
ReplyDeleteFirst one.. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the first one also but I still amazes me that publishers reuse covers with such frequency.
ReplyDeleteOhh, this is a difficult one. I think I'm gonna have to go with the first one. I like the closer-up of the photo, and the colors are brighter!
ReplyDeleteI like the second one. Does this happen often, using the exact same cover on different books?
ReplyDeleteYa, I think I actually pretty much agree with you. I like the words on the first cover but the second I like that picture.
ReplyDeleteI think I like the first one. There's something about the close-up of the old books that makes me happy.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't like the shoes, either.

Strange, my link doesn't seem to work. Here's a hard copy:

ReplyDeleteI vote for the first. Cool title, too!
ReplyDeleteI like both but if I had to compare I would say the first one.
ReplyDeleteI like both and for the same reasons you do.
ReplyDeleteLenore's comment made me laugh.
I like the first one. Plus those shoes are super cute :)
ReplyDeleteIt is bad to step on books :(
ReplyDeleteI like the top one. I have that same book and it doesn't have that cover.
