"Getting to know the characters of FIRE" Tour Day 2!

Lord Brocker, Archer’s adoptive father, was once the most brilliant military commander the Dells had ever seen… until some 20 years ago, when, out of the blue, old King Nax tortured and banished him. Of course, everyone knows that Nax was never entirely in his right mind. He did lots of flaky things. But, still… one wonders why he would have turned on his own military champion…

To read about more of the characters of FIRE check out the rest of the tour dates from September 14th to October 2nd! To see the list of stops click the tour icon! Here's some more information about FIRE which is the companion title (not a sequel, stands alone but is still related) to GRACELING by Kristin Cashore! Just like GRACELING, FIRE is getting great reviews and you can find out for yourself why when it releases October 5th! I'm sure excited to read them!

Amazon.com:

She is the last of her kind...

It is not a peaceful time in the Dells. In King City, the young King Nash is clinging to the throne, while rebel lords in the north and south build armies to unseat him. War is coming. And the mountains and forest are filled with spies and thieves. This is where Fire lives, a girl whose beauty is impossibly irresistible and who can control the minds of everyone around her.

Exquisitely romantic, this companion to the highly praised Graceling has an entirely new cast of characters, save for one person who plays a pivotal role in both books. You don't need to have read Graceling to love Fire. But if you haven't, you'll be dying to read it next.

To get prepared for the release here are a few more things:

  1. I cannot wait to read this book because I was lucky enough to get my hands on Graceling before it came out last year, and I have been in love ever since. The first chapter of Fire was amazing, and I am jumping-up-and-down eager to see how the story develops.

    Great job, Kristin!

  10. Please enter me. I was lucky enough to read an ARC of FIRE and fell madly in love. With Fire herself, her friends, and the whole cast of complex and wonderful characters. Fire was the real draw, though. I just found her portrayal so sympathetic and riveting. Thanks for this giveaway!

  12. A friend got an advance copy and let me read it. It was totally different then what I was expecting and I loved every second of it! I lent my copy for Graceling to my father (who noramlly only reads cowboy stories, but whom I got to read both Graceling and Hunger Games). Now he and I are both attached to Cashore's books and he asked if I could get my friend to lend him her copy. She said No. I really want to win a copy so he and I can share.

  15. My favorite part about Fire (I was lucky to get my hands on an ARC!) was the intricacy of the plot and the lyrical storytelling. Kristin Cashore's writing is absolutely captivating - Fire's story grabbed me and didn't let go until I had turned the last page. The best book I've read all year! Make sure you clear your calendar the day you get this, because you won't want to do anything else.

  33. I honestly cannot wait to read the book! I absolutely loved Graceling and have been dying to read anything else by Kristin Cashore ever since. What makes me particularly want to read Fire is the girl herself, Fire. I read the first few chapters and I was hooked. Like Katsa, Fire is a strong female character with a lot of layers. She is such a multidimensional main character that even after the first few chapters I'm dying to know more. I especially find it fascinating that she's supposed to be mind numbingly beautiful and she doesn't like it! I think that would be so true if you were such an amazingly beautiful person, people would focus only on that and it would be hard for you to feel like anyone genuinely liked who you were under the beauty. I like that Fire could be this arrogant take charge person but there's a humility about her and a need to fit in that I find fascinating and I want to read the book so I can learn more!
So all in all I'd really love to win the book!! My contact info is...

  35. I've read it and I absolutely loved it - I really loved how Kristin Cashore's writing improved from Graceling to Fire - In Fire, to me, all the characters were much more well-rounded and just were better. In Graceling, the only thing that bugged me was the characters, and the cahracters in Fire just blew me away.
