Wow, random discovery! I don't know how long it would take for me to notice something like that!
Since you discovered it, I nominate you to hunt down all the copies and make sure it's spelled right or add in the 'n'! Haha, doesn't that sound like fun? :)
I have this book, signed. I imagine mine is misspelled, too, (did they, at any point, realize & fix it?) but it's 4000 miles away, so I can't check. And now it's going to bug me. When next I see my copy, the spine will be the first thing I look at.
I just got this book from Swap because Steph so highly recommended it. Just checked and my copy is the same as yours! I've never been observant like that so I'm not surprised I hadn't yet noticed. :P
That's the first thing I noticed when you showed the photo of the spine...I think that's because I'm always conscious of how I spell that word. I used to get it wrong a lot in school.
I can't believe this got through...but I just got my copy too and it is also misspelled. I blogged about it and linked back to you http://kissmybook.blogspot.com/2009/02/even-pros-make-mistakes.html
That is a fabulous book. :D
ReplyDeleteI checked my copy. It's spelled right on mine, muahaha.
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny. I wonder how many people missed that before it went to press.
ReplyDeleteAh, that would annoy me to NO END.
ReplyDeleteKhy- At first I was like hmm is this an ARC, but it's not! Maybe our editions are different? I'm glad it was eventually caught!
ReplyDeleteNICE! You should hold to that and maybe it'll be a collectible.
ReplyDeleteLOL. I so would have never caught that. But then again I am a BAD speller.
ReplyDeleteaww thats a bummer

ReplyDeleteOh God. They need an editor like you, Alea! Yikes. Don't you think SOMEONE would've caught that? *cringe*
ReplyDeleteOh, how embarrassing! I love that author, too.
ReplyDeletelol..I can imagine how embarrassed the author and publishers were when they noticed.
ReplyDeleteToo funny. But don't count on spellcheck to catch everything.

ReplyDeleteWaah, how terrible and yet how funny! It kinda makes your copy "special" I guess!
ReplyDeleteThat's the first thing I noticed when you showed the photo of the spine...I think that's because I'm always conscious of how I spell that word. I used to get it wrong a lot in school.
ReplyDeleteYes, you should be thrilled that you may just have a rare collectable :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! Especially since it wasn't an ARC.
ReplyDeleteI looked at that and knew something was wrong with the word Assignment, but it took me a while to figure out what! That is kind of annoying.
ReplyDeleteOmg, lol! How awful for that author.
ReplyDeleteHow horrible! Poor author!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you guys enjoyed this! When I first noticed I was like no... that's can't be!
