The September Sisters by Jillian Canton
The Immortal by Gillian ShieldsHmm... this is a hard one for me because I'm in about equal amounts of dislike with these covers, The September Sister's slightly more so. I think it's the yellow title and blue on blue. It's just not doing it for me. And while the colors are slightly better on Immortal I'm not fond of that business happening up on the top, just weird.
Which do you prefer?

I don't think that either cover would draw me in at a store. Both would be books that a friend would have to rave about for me to go looking for it.
ReplyDeleteThe first one is a bit too blah and the second a bit to busy, if you know what I mean..and both remind me of the uber cheese film Titanic.
The title treatments aren't great, Especially September Sisters. The Immortal holds more interest, maybe because of that strange business happening up top.

ReplyDeleteThese covers are too blue for me, but if I had to choose one, I think I'd go for the bottom one.

ReplyDeleteDefinitely Immortal. I don't know what September Sisters is about, but I've seen the cover often around the blogosphere. I've never liked it. I think you're right about the yellow title, it just lacks a cohesion.

ReplyDeleteBoth are pretty, but the September Sisters is kind of tacky looking. I like the immortal better, it seems more mysterious and it's prettier, too!

ReplyDeleteIt also makes me giggle to see that their first names are pronounced the same but with a different first letter- a Soundalike within a Lookalike, lol.
They're a bit too monochromatic for my liking ^_^
ReplyDeleteImmortal is my choice. Both blah. Neither good nor bad (there are covers that are so much worse)
ReplyDeleteBoth aren't great, but Immortal at least has some design to it. I feel like the first one looks dated and less vibrant. Both are not very strong.
