Favorite Books of 2009

I stressed out over this for weeks (didn't do a list last year) and then realized I had given only 9 books I read last year 5 stars, so problem solved. They are in chronological order because I'm weird like that. I'm pretty sure these were all released in the United States in the year 2009. Click the titles to read my review for each. Kind of funny how there would be months without a 5 star book and then a few clustered together. Also it's very apparent I read a lot of Young Adult literature this year!

The Season by Sarah MacLean
5 stars given on March 1st of 2009
Genre: Young Adult Historical Romance

Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols
5 stars given on March 15th of 2009
Genre: Young Adult

Willow by Julia Hoban
5 stars given on March 17th of 2009
Genre: Young Adult
Of all of my favorites this is my favorite-favorite!

  8. I loved Going too Far, such a amazing book. And I finished Willow today, but if I had read it last year, it would so have made my best of 2009 list!!! Vinyl Princess sounds amazing, oh and guess what!! nowhere in the UK stocks Empire Records....i've had to buy it from i tunes!! I couldn't decide what to read next but this has decided it for me, I am so reading The Season :-)

  9. I hearted Willow and The Season too!

  10. I really need to get Going Too Far- I keep seeing it on a lot of lists.

I liked Willow too.... it was so well done for her pain

  11. The Season is also one of my favorites. I loved it!

  12. The Season was also one of my favorites, although I didn't put it on my list beacause I read an early copy in late 2008. I'm really hoping for a sequel someday!

  13. What a great list of fun books! I plan to read The Happiness Project as soon as I can get my hands on a copy. Her blog is fantastic.

    Happy Reading in 2010!

  16. I just bought Outer Suburbia and WILLOW is on my best of 2009 list. Thank you for encouraging me to read it and thanks to Julia for being such a great person.

  17. There are a couple on this list that I've got to get to reading out of my TBR pile. Then a couple I need to actually get to add to it, haha. I'm debating on The Happiness Project but am leaning more and more towards it.

    Great list!
