"Waiting On" Wednesday 98

Across the Universe by Beth Revis

Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.

Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone—one of the few thousand inhabitants of the spaceship—tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn’t do something soon, her parents will be next.

Now, Amy must race to unlock Godspeed’s hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there’s only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming.

Released January 11th 2011

I don't really go for Sci-Fi like ever, but the summary really stood out as different and then I read the first chapter. I'll definitely be buying this one in hardcover, which I never do!

What can't you wait for to be released?

"Waiting On" Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine!

  1. I've been following Beth's blog for a while so I've always known that this book was going to be great, but then I read the first chapter and I was so impressed. It was AWESOME. I NEED this book the day it comes out!

I got to read the first 50 pages of this at my internship - it doesn't matter if you don't go for sci fi, this book is barely sci fi. It is mostly the story of a girl trying to adapt to a life she never expected. i could writes rave reviews of the first fifty.

I cannot wait to read the rest of this book and the rest of this series.

  3. I'm not into sci-fi either, but I'm curious about this book. Great WoW pick!

  4. I have been waiting on this book for what seems like forever!! I can't wait to read it.

  5. I've been seeing this one float around the blogoverse a lot this week. I've definitely added it to my wishlist.
