Flash Your Stash 3

It's time to flash your stash a monthly meme hosted by Tami!

I'm going to be a little more informal with my post this time around (No awesome lettering :( )

This yarn is for my three in progress (sort of) afghans/blankets. From left to right: Ripple, Summer Garden Granny Square, African Flower Hexagon Blanket. And why yes you can see some of those blankets in the background!

Here is some of my new yarn on the left (LYS sale purchase) and right (Smiley's Yarn online order) and in the middle are some of my smaller WIPs and their yarn.

Here is yarn that for the most part is attached to projects (go back to last Flash Your Stash for specifics) and my new Bernat Mosaic (obsessed!) and a few other things I've purchased in the last month.

Here is my bulky yarn, the fun fur my Aunt gave me that is turned into a giant mass and I am currently untangling, oops! And some other yarn from finished projects or discarded yarn from projects and other random stuff.

This is the yarn that I currently have in a dresser drawer, the stuff in the plastic bags is all cotton (was trying a space saving technique with that lol) a lot of worsted and some sport for amigurumi and other random stuff that was used or discarded from projects.

Like Tami I'm hoping not to buy a lot of yarn til I use some of this up but sometimes that's hard haha! I do have my eyes on KnitPicks....!

Flash Your Stash 2

If you like my crafty posts you might remember a month ago I first flashed my stash for Tami's meme, well it's time to do it again! And it seems my stash has changed and grown (oh no!)

A. This is what's left of the Summer Garden Granny Square yarn, which I've gotten back to this week a bit. I'm using it to join the squares and then will make some kind of border from it! (Mostly Vanna's Choice)

B. Here is all the yarn for the Ripple blanket, I just bought a few more skeins that were on sale, might get a few more this week too! Look at all the colors! (A mix of Vanna's Baby, Loops & Threads Impeccable, and Vanna's Choice)

C. This weekend I started on a yarn bag/basket based on Attic24's pattern, I thought it would be a good way to use up some of my cotton yarn. And then it happened to go on sale yesterday and good thing too because I don't think I would have had enough to finish the basket. Not my best color palette but I just wanted to use what I had. (Lily's Sugar' n Creme)

D. This is the yarn for the scarf I showed off last week, got a long ways to go on that one! (Plymouth's Dream Baby DK)

E. This yarn I picked up today, after seeing it in Joann's yesterday I thought and thought about what I could make with it and decided it had the potential to work wonderfully for the slippers I made awhile back. So I got it in like almost every color I could find. So far so good! (Red Heart Moon & Stars)

F. My mom bought this yarn so I would make her one of the plaid scarves I made a few weeks ago. (Vanna's Choice)

G. Originally this didn't have a purpose but once I get 2 more skeins I think it will work wonderfully for this scarf. (Berroco Comfort Worsted)

H. Some crochet thread for this, this, and another thing. (Aunt Lydia's and Royale)

I. This is for a cute pair of Bunny Slippers from the Happy Hooker. I had to special order some of that yarn and it came in about 2 weeks ago. :) (Lamb's Pride Worsted & La Gran Mohair)

J. This is the yarn I have been collecting recently for this pattern. (Berrocco Comfort DK)

K. This is some random and left over yarn. (Red Heart Designer Sport and other stuff)

L. I bought this forever ago to knit a pair of mittens but now I have this scarf in mind (raverly link). (Paton's Classic Wool)

M. More random yarn, the green Homespun I've been working on a scarf for my sister for (but not since the spring oops!) (Fun Fur, Homespun, Sensations, and Full 'o Sheep)

N. More cotton (Lily's Sugar' n Creme and Lion Brand Cotton)

O. Leftover yarn from completed projects (Vanna's Choice etc)

P. Random yarn and some yarn from abandoned projects. (Loops and Threads Impeccable and Bernat Satin?)

So come on, flash your stash!

Flash Your Stash (of Yarn!)

Tami over at Tami's Amis and Other Crochet is hosting a Flash Your Stash today of yarn. And of course I had to participate. I wanted to add a bit of commentary as well! Click the images to enlarge!

A. This is the yarn I'm using to make the Summer Garden Granny Square blanket from Attic24. It's yarn I already had from my stash, in attempts to try and use it up.

B. This specific yarn is the first I ever bought. I think I was either still in college or had just graduated. I bought it and some metal knitting needles at Walmart wanting to teach myself to knit. It didn't happen and I just threw them in a box for a few years.

C. This is the yarn for the Granny Stripe Blanket from Attic24. I purchased all this yarn to make the blanket. I'm almost done with my first skein of each of the 16 colors and just purchased a whole new set of 16 which will hopefully take me through the rest of the blanket, fingers crossed!

D. This is a bunch of random yarn I bought when I started doing Amigurumi. I bought a bunch of colors I thought I would need so I wouldn't have to go buy something new every time I wanted to start one. Some I've used some I haven't. I really regret buying that electric orange, I guess I thought I would be making some carrots?

E. I bought this yarn to make the cable knit scarf I was working on back in the spring and ended up deciding I didn't want to continue with this specific scarf so I've been using the yarn for whatever now including the first failed beret!

F. This is the yarn I bought and used in my first ever knitting class. Yay!

G. My newest purchases from earlier in the week. Some of it is project specific and some isn't.

H. Here is some cotton I bought when I was learning to crochet, not sure what I had in mind but I used it on a lot of swatches and my first ever Amigurumi, a bunny!

I. After my first Knitting class apparently I decided I would be making a lot of scarves so this is what I bought. Since then I think I've used two skeins to make two hats.

J. The green I purchased with my sister to make her a scarf, still in progress. The purple would be for another of the same.

K. My aunt gave me this last month, I think it was from a friend of hers. I'm interested to try working with this, probably would be good for a scarf yes?

L. This is the yarn for the berets I made, I have one skein left and some leftovers from those and the black purse I made.

M. I bought this to knit some mittens or half gloves or something, still haven't done it!

I think it's fun to see how people's stashes change and grow so maybe this will be a several times a year thing? I'm hoping to now go on a yarn fast and see how much of this I can use up!
